Tiercon is an automotive supplier committed to the manufacture of quality exterior and interior trim and bumper systems used as original equipment in the automotive markets.  Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have moulding, painting and assembly capability, employing approximately 600 people throughout 4 Canadian facilities, and also manage 1 US facility.  Tiercon is seeking a knowledgeable, self directed, experienced and hard working individual interested in the automotive industry as Mold Process Technician at one of our Stoney Creek facilities. 

Reporting to the Mold Manager, the Process Technician is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting and improving processes and/or process conditions.


Processing Standards


  • Developing the process tolerance parameters
  • Monitoring actuals
  • Setting and tracking targets for continuous improvement
  • Monitor and assess processes and/or process conditions to ensure they are in control
  • Review process control check sheets for tolerance adherence each day and provide updates where necessary. (Very important, TS requirement).
  • Establish standards, develop procedures and maintain checklists and data entry where applicable

Maintenance & PM


  • Assist mold maker with mold tool troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
  • Preform mold machines preventative maintenance ie. visual issues, component wear, clean and lube etc
  • Perform all program troubleshooting and adjustments to injection mold equipment including robotics and end of arm tooling

Mold Changes


  • Monitor mold change activities and help drive action plans for safety, change time and start up time
  • Document procedures, work recommendations for improvement ie. mold change activity, robot programs, E.O.A.T. change over; material change over, grinder set-up
  • Direct focus on start-ups after mold change
  • New mold launches, dial in process, program and set up the robot. Record all set ups after the trial 



  • Conduct trials on new programs
  • Conduct trials on new technology, record results, make recommendations on its use and implement if viable
  • In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or production/quality problems; and developing, implementing and verifying corrective actions
  • Collaborate with material supplier to encourage scrap reduction
  • Perform duties as assigned from time to time by Supervisor/Manager


  • Minimum of a High School Diploma 
  • Applicable post-secondary education an asset
  • Equipment specific training an asset
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge in applicable software
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical hands on experience in an injection molding role
  • Experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Experience in injection mold equipment and tooling
