Tiercon is an automotive supplier committed to the manufacture of quality exterior and interior trim and bumper systems used as original equipment in the automotive markets.  Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have moulding, painting and assembly capability, employing approximately 600 people throughout the 4 Canadian facilities and 1 US facility.  Tiercon is seeking a knowledgeable, self directed and hard working individual interested in the automotive industry as a QUALITY ENGINEER at our Stoney Creek Corporate office. 

Reporting to the Corporate Quality Engineer-Business Development, the Quality Engineer would develop and maintain programs from inception through to production.  Your principal duties and responsibilities will include: 

  • PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plan development
  • Analyzing and resolving customer quality issues, including formal response to PR&Rs
  • Coordinating Fast response meeting activities and driving target dates
  • Auditing and maintaining QSB accreditation
  • Coordinating containment activity with Quality and Production Supervisors
  • Creating Control plans and relevant inspection and test instructions.
  • Manage internal and external dimensional layouts on parts and gauges (CMM capability)
  • Assist in the development, construction and evaluation of all fixtures and gauges
  • Visit customer locations where required
  • Develop implement and maintain quality systems inline with Customer requirements and Tiercon management direction, (Tiercon is TS16949 and QSB certified).
  • Any other reasonable duties as directed 

Qualifications / Requirements: 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus be computer and email literate (MS office, primarily Excel, Power point and Word Minitab/other SPC analysis software).
  • Degree or college qualification in related discipline.
  • Experience in working with OEMS in product launch in a Tier 1 organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate directly with customers-internal and external
  • The Ability to work to firm deadlines in a high paced environment.
  • Project management experience 

The following experience and knowledge is desirable for this position: 

  • Knowledge and experience of customer systems and procedures
  • Experience of injection moulding, painting and assembly processes.
  • Minimum of 3 years quality engineering experience in a Manufacturing environment
