Tiercon is an automotive supplier committed to the manufacture of quality exterior and interior trim and bumper systems used as original equipment in the automotive markets.  Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have moulding, painting and assembly capability, employing approximately 600 people throughout the 4 Canadian facilities and 1 US facility.  Tiercon is seeking a knowledgeable, self directed and hard working individual interested in the automotive industry as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our 591 Arvin, Stoney Creek site.  


Reporting to the Sr. Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for all Plant and production equipment and processes. In addition; he will assist in the resolution of production problems, promote lean manufacturing principles, support the development and installation of new equipment or processes and ensure all applicable environmental regulations are met.  He will be responsible for managing manufacturing engineering resources in paint, and mold while ensuring the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System are adhered to and continuous improvement is practiced.


Education Required

University Degree in Engineering or College Diploma and equivalent experience

Training Required

Management/Supervisory, Due diligence, Business Financial, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Design of Experiments, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing

Skills Required

Leadership, Decision Making, Complex Math, Analytical, Organization of Self & Staff

Equivalent Experience

10 to 15 years of technical /engineering and 3 to 5 yrs supervisory



Details of Principal Duties, Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Support and demonstrate leadership with all health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations. They are directly responsible for Stoney Creek 591 Arvin Environmental compliance.
  • Provide leadership to Paint Application, Paint Program Management, and Manufacturing Engineering for Mold, and Paint
  • Take the lead on Automation and Technology implementation and upgrades for 591 and 352 Arvin facilities
  • Co-chair a Lean Manufacturing implementation strategy focused on 5S, Kaizen and plant wide improvements
  • Provide strategic leadership for paint application Engineering, technology improvement and paint facility equipment refurbishment
  • Work with the Sr. Plant Manager to determine new equipment and processes, obtain quotes, write specifications, arrange for installation and follow-up to ensure equipment is installed on time while meeting budget.
  • Develop annual capital budgets
  • Responsible to lead Paint Yield and Paint Uptime improvement teams
  • Provide leadership for the production team with program management regarding new launch, production set ups, tooling and equipment requirements, and process/product flow.
  • Provide technical support and manage the Megamation Preventative Maintenance activities for all Tiercon plts.
  • Assist Production, Program Management and Sales in rack design to optimize robot productivity and quality.
  • Demonstrate leadership by driving PFMEA, Control Plans and job element continuity.
