Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the industrial electrician (Paint Department) is responsible for performing and documenting all necessary installations and repairs for all production equipment and facilities, ensuring that plant and processing equipment is in safe and good working order. The industrial electrician (Paint Department) will provide technical and mechanical assistance to plant mechanics when required. In addition, they will assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the resolution of equipment problems and the installation of new equipment. They will also be responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the TS 16949 Quality System and practicing continuous improvement.


  • Planning, designing, purchasing, installing and testing of new branch control circuits as well as maintenance to existing systems and equipment.
  • Work on a 3 shift rotation.
  • Interpret the Canadian Electrical Safety Code to the satisfaction of the inspection department for all construction.
  • ABB & Fanuc robot experience.
  • Experience with transformers, switch gears, conveyors, pumps, VFD's, fire alarm panels, HVAC troubleshooting, lighting panels, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting relay logic.
  • Must have the ability to design and interpreting prints
  • Design and build control and interface systems.
  • Trouble shoots equipment to identify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electronic problems.
  • PLC programming and inventory control of electrical parts.
  • Liaison with service reps, sales persons and engineers to repair and improve equipment and call in contract personnel as required.
  • Installation of feeds for new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repairs to controls of presses, cutters, automated paint equipment, thermo regulated material conditioning systems, lighting and any other electrical maintenance duties as may arise from time to time.
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable working unsupervised and without blueprints.
  • Comply with all company health and safety regulations ensuring a safe work environment at all times and reporting accidents, incidents and known or potential hazards immediately.
  • In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or paint application/production/quality problems; and developing, implementing and verifying corrective action.
  • Promote continuous improvement in all areas of Maintenance.
  • Support TPM system use.
  • Perform duties as assigned from time to time.


  • High school graduate
  • 442A Certificate
  • 1-2 years as an licensed electrician in a manufacturing environment
