Tiercon is a growing manufacturing company primarily focused on the automotive industry.  Headquartered in Stoney Creek (Canada), the plants have moulding, painting and assembly capability, employing approximately 450 people throughout the four facilities. 

Tiercon is seeking a knowledgeable, self-directed, hard working, and multi-skilled manufacturing INJECTION MOLDING MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR for the Coplas plant located in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Reporting to the Molding Manager, the Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, injection mold machine maintenance, molding processes, and personnel of the production line to ensure that all customer schedules are met within the established quality, safety and production targets.  In addition, the Production Supervisor will resolve any concerns or problems of production personnel and ensure all employees adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the TS 16949 Quality System.


Details of Principal Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

  • Ensure associates understand and follow all Safety regulations and rules through training and auditing
  • Perform mould changes per schedule
  • Troubleshoot injection molding process and machines
  • Execute Preventative Maintenance tasks on Molds, Molding Machines, and other equipment
  • Organize and direct associates and their activities in order to achieve labour efficiency targets
  • Lead daily Safety, Quality, Delivery meetings with all associates on shift
  • Ensure associates understand and follow standard work instructions through training and auditing
  • Correct unacceptable behavior or performance by counseling or disciplining associates
  • Start up and shut down equipment
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving activities
  • Record and report on daily Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  • Record and report on problems and counter measures
  • Lead, Participate and report on 5S activities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years experience working with injection molding machines
  • Ability to troubleshoot injection molding process and machines and perform frontline maintenance
  • Experience with plastic processing set up and related operations
  • Have been in a role which supervised in a unionized environment with a high activity work environment
  • Demonstration of a high energy work ethic
  • Class A surface Automotive knowledge and experience
  • Performance of Quality functions, and experience executing Quality procedures


The successful candidate will have multi-skilled manufacturing skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills. Exposure to injection molding process, supervision, and preventative maintenance is a must.
